Dabestan heisst „Volksschule“ auf Farsi. Yar bedeutet „Freund“. Man „mein“. Yar-e Dabestani-e Man ist also der Volkschulkollege. Yar-e Dabestani-e Man ist ein populärer Song im Iran, speziell unter der studentenbewegung, es wird auf Protestkundgebungen und Demonstrationen gesungen. So auch bei der Mahnwache in Wien am 21.6.2009.
